Lincolnshire Kidney Patients Association is a charity registered with the Charity Commission. You can look us up on the Charity Commission website. Our charity number is 1096552.

The Association was formed in 2003 and provided a very valuable service to the people of Lincolnshire for many years. After a period of dormancy it was relaunched in September 2018 with a very small group of local volunteers; kidney patients and carers. Unfortunately with the onset of the General Data Protection Regulation which came into being in May 2018, a few months before the relaunch, we lost access to the old membership list which at one time numbered 300, so for now we are slowly rebuilding our membership AND WOULD VERY MUCH WELCOME NEW MEMBERS. Please see the contacts page for more information if you would be interested in joining us.

As a member of Lincs KPA you will be invited to any social or fundraising events we have organised. We like to hear from our members with their views on renal services in Lincolnshire and for any suggestions about what, as a KPA, we could be doing or doing better. We draw on the experience of our membership to strengthen our voice in matters concerning renal services locally and nationally and we are very interested in supporting family and carers of renal patients wherever we can.

Lincs KPA operates with a small committee of 6-10 people who meet 4 times a year, with an Annual General Meeting in October / November each year. At the AGM a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are appointed to carry out the administrative duties of the Association. Any member can put themselves forward as a candidate for committee or one of the executive posts before the meeting (contact the Secretary please if you are interested).

We are members of the National Kidney Federation. Based in Worksop this is a federation of the 49 kidney patients associations across the UK. Through our membership we have access to a wide range of supports as a group, including a national patient event each year, and our members, if they agree for us to share their details with NKF, receive a free very interesting quarterly magazine. You do not have to be a member of Lincs KPA to receive this magazine however, you can contact them separately to go on their mailing list if you prefer.

You also do not need to be a member of the Association to speak to us or seek our assistance. We would just be rather pleased if you were!
